Scan & import invoices
Scan a paper invoice
Section titled “Scan a paper invoice”Point your camera at a paper invoice or receipt. Munto’s live edge-detection guides you into position and auto-crops and deskews the page once it’s captured. On web, use your browser’s camera file picker instead.
Import a PDF or image
Section titled “Import a PDF or image”Already have the invoice as a file? Import a PDF or image directly instead of scanning it.
AI extraction
Section titled “AI extraction”Once scanned or imported, Munto reads the document and auto-fills:
- Vendor
- Amount
- IBAN / BIC
- Issue and due dates
- Structured communication
- A suggested category
It also detects what kind of document it is — an invoice, a reminder, or a dunning notice. If the document can’t be read automatically, Munto shows a banner (“We couldn’t read this invoice automatically”) and lets you fill the fields in manually.
Forward by email
Section titled “Forward by email”Each workspace has its own unique ingest email address, so you can forward invoices straight from your inbox.
- Find your unique address in Settings → Forward invoices by email.
- Copy it.
- Forward an email with the invoice attached to that address — Munto turns it into a bill automatically.
If the address ever leaks or you just want a fresh one, rotate it from the same Settings → Forward invoices by email screen.
The invoice viewer
Section titled “The invoice viewer”Any invoice attached to a bill — image or PDF — shows inline. Tap it to zoom in full-screen.
The document timeline
Section titled “The document timeline”Each bill keeps a timeline of every document linked to it: the original invoice plus any later reminders or dunning notices, each with its date, amount, added costs, and a View PDF link.
Once a bill exists, see Bills for how to track, pay, and manage it.
